Influencing change is probably one of the hardest things to do. How can you get someone to change how they’ve been doing things for years to something that is out of their comfort zone? During this course, I studied several methods on just how to do that. We worked with the Six Influences of Change and 4DX model. And although they both had their differences, they also complimented each other as well. The key is identifying your goals, the vital behaviors and how you plan support and track progression of the goals. I believe that the most important thing when it comes to change is defining the purpose. With both the Six Influences of Change and 4DX model, it was imperative for us to state our goals before anything else. Convincing others to do something out of their routine isn’t an easy task, however if you can clearly state the need and why it is important, they are more inclined to listen. Change isn’t something that happens over night, it is a process.

I will say that at the beginning of this course I was quite intimidated. Our first meeting I instantly felt overwhelmed with information. Not only was our usual 8 week course shortened, but I have to write an article to be published? However, after taking sometime to process all of the information and talk with classmates, I felt my anxiety melting away. I thoroughly enjoyed the class as it gave me the opportunity to think about a situation that I felt that I could improve on. My topic for the article was about blogging for grades 3-5 and utilizing Padlet. During this process not only was I able to gather guidance from my classmates but I also got to collaborate with a friend who is a Technology Specialist at my former campus. What I found most exciting about this class was the media project as it provided me an opportunity to be creative by recording a podcast.

Crucial Conversations (In Progress)
During this program contribution and collaboration is the key to the success that you obtain. I find that my key collaborators continue to be the same, however with every course I am welcomed or welcome additional members of our ADL program. Some of the key collaborators I work with are Dawn Short, Valary Patterson, Kristin Winzer, and Ashleigh Bouvier. However, I can name so many more as the group has grown and is full of many willing to offer support when needed. Throughout the Fall session, I feel that I have been a consistent and supportive team member. My collaborations occur through Zoom meetings, commenting on shared documents and through the ADL GroupMe chat. I am assigning myself a grade of 95 as my Contribution to Learning. Although, I feel as if I haven't been as consistent with posting discussions on Blackboard, I do make it a priority to post and reply to my classmates’ in a reasonable time frame.
