My article will be about teaching students how to utilize Padlet to create and embed blogs into their e-portfolio with Google Sites.
Where do you plan to submit (consider 2-3 options)
Education Week - Distinct perspective, 1,000 words or less
TCEA Posts should be 500-800 words.
-
Include a short 1-3 sentence bio with your post.
-
Include at least one high-res photo related to the content.

What is the connection to your innovation plan or initiative?
-
My innovation plan is for students in grades 3-5 to build and maintain an e-portfolio to showcase their learned skills throughout the academic year. The EP will also serve as a place for students to document their progress in assessments and serve as a blog to share and collaborate with fellow classmates through online discussion.

How can this information help others?
-
This information will help students by utilizing an elementary appropriate website that is easy to interact with and include into their e-portfolio. This will also highly benefit teachers as it does not require a paid subscription to use and all students of the school district may use a Google Sign In to easily access Padlet.

Lessons learned or hoped to learn?
-
Utilizing Padlet as a simplified way to introduce students to blogging and collaborating with other students.
What digital resources will be included in your article? Briefly describe.
-
Google Sites - A user friendly Google app that allows students to easily edit and add pages, and content from their already existing Google Drive.
-
Padlet - An interactive digital board where students/teachers can design timelines, maps, and streamline content. I will focus solely on the “Wall” template as it can be used to create a page where students can transform responses to discussion questions into a blog for their classmates to read and comment on.
