While learning more of the 4DX, I kept envisioning how to support for the staff implementing the project would look. There were so many things to consider when following through with my innovation plan. However with developing the WIG, it helps you focus on your desired result and ways to obtain it. My goal is to motivate the staff members of our campus join us in the journey of creating e-portfolios. Influencing change is a very hard task to accomplish, however there are practices in place to help along the way such as the 4DX and Influencer Strategy. Both methods are similar in the way that the two have you narrow it down to 3 behaviors to change. And although the two models are different, they both, they compliment each other through spotlighting effective and meaningful change. When designing my own take on the 4DX and Influencer Strategy, I wanted to focus motivating staff members and being supportive of those who may be struggling with the required tasks. One of the main differences in the models are that the 4DX helps you execute the plan, while the Influencer Strategy focuses on how changes will be made.
5 Stages of Change
Introducing a new initiative is difficult. Some people may be excited, but especially in education, people need to be convinced of the purpose of something new. In order to help others be open to change while also ensuring long lasting success, a model to consider is the 5 Stages of Change.
