Instructional Design

Course Overview

My innovation plan was created in order to help teachers and students develop a number of skills needed to build ePortfolios such as website design and content building.  When I created my big hairy audacious goal, I had third through fifth grade teachers in mind.  The goal is for these teachers to learn and develop skills in building ePortfolios so that they are able to teach their own students and implement use in their classroom.

Course Implementation

The video embedded in this section previews the Introduction, Module 1 and Module 2 of the course, Showcasing the Journey - ePortfolios for Grades 3-5.  At the beginning of the course, participants will click in the 'Introduction' section to view the syllabus, course schedule and information about the instructor and course.  Each module has directly aligns with Fink's Three Column Table that was designed for this course.  In the 10-week course, participants will participate in a series of in person and virtual collaborations in a blended learning environment.  The overall goal of this course is for teachers to construct an ePortfolio and teach their students how to build and maintain their own ePortfolio.

Usability Testing & Reflection

For the last assignment in EDLD 5318 we were tasked with gathering participants to test the usability of our LMS.  I was able to gather five participants.  Three of whom are teachers who would be potential participants in the course and two who are involved in the edTech field.  All reviewers were given access to the Google Classroom I built and were encouraged to look through the course and provide feedback on the user experience.  The video on the right is a reflection of the feedback I received on the course.
